requesting that I of OER brief the CNO Executive Panel
on 16 May 1974. we are p eased to make Bob available for the
briefing, but would like to have him accompanied by his Division
Chief from the Office of Scientific
Intelligence . They are looking forward to their discussion with
the Executive Panel. I am sure it will be a useful and productive
session.

Dear Bill,
On 20 February you sent me a report entitled "Soviet
Economic and Technological Benefits from Detente". Admiral
Zumwalt reviewed the report and found it most enlightening.
He asked me to inquire whether your action officer (Mr.
of OER) could brief the CNO Executive Panel
on the contents of this report.
The CNO Executive Panel is an advisory board composed
of prominent members of the academic, scientific, and
business communities who meet periodically to consider
subjects of interest to Admiral Zumwalt and to provide him
their views and advice. A roster of the current membership
is attached.
The Executive Panel is scheduled to meet on 15 and
16 May in room 4D710, the Pentagon. Captain Bill Cockell,
the Executive Director, has tentatively scheduled
presentation for 1400 on 16 May. I anticipate tha e
format would include thirty minutes of informal remarks by
followed by another thirty minutes of round-
table discussion.
I hope I I will be able to meet with the Panel.
All the members possess TOP SECRET and other compartmented
clearances, so security should pose no problem. If there
is any other information we can provide you, please do not
