The figure used in the TV station's
editorial probably was from testimony by the
DCI in October 1973 -- leaked and used out of
context. The full transcript is highly clas-
sified and, according to OLC, not likely to be
declassified or released in the forseeable
future.
In any event, there's nothing to be
gained by reviving this debate. I suggest
we not exercise our right to reply, which
was proffered in routine fash form
letter.
