5. Mr. Walsh reported that the White House has established an
Intelligence Steering Group. In addition to Mr. Colby, there are
representatives from OMB, State and Defense. The Group is to identify
issues involved in the current investigations and is to recommend an
Executive Branch strategy on how to break the present impasse with
the House Committee.
6. Mr. Walsh reported that the excessive time spent on the
congressional investigations has required Mr. Colby to call two
"Morning Meetings" -- one at 0900, the other at 1730.

9. Mr. Walsh reported that CIA has spent an estimated 70,000
manhours responding to the congressional investigations. Including
the Rockefeller Committee, about 200,000 manhours have been devoted
to the investigations since the first of the year.
10. The Congressional Checklist (now called the Intelligence
Checklist) is a big success and now published five times a week.
