Thank you for your willingness to serve on the overview
committee which will advise us on the design and construction
of a new comprehensive information processing system called
SAFE. Other members of the committee are:

Information Program, Office of Science Information

This letter is an official invitation to attend the
first meeting of the committee at which we propose to brief
you in considerable detail on SAFE, to obtain your initial
comments on the project and on how we might proceed, and to
set a time for the next meeting. The meeting will be at
9:00 a.m. on 8 January 1975 and should last most of the day.
It will be held at the CIA Headquarters Building (just north
of Washington, D.C.) off Virginia Route 123 or the George
Washington Memorial Parkway (Virginia side). You may arrive
at the Headquarters Building between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.
You will receive reimbursement for your travel--air or
whatever--to Washington, local transportation, per diem at
the rate of $25 per day and an independent contractor fee of
about $140 per day while you are here on 8 January. The
