Thanks very much for your letter of 18 December 1974
inviting me to attend the first meeting of the overview
committee on SAFE.
I shall be glad to do what I can to advise you in this
matter to the best of my ingenuity and analytical ability.
So that there should be no confusion, I want to emphasize
that I am not an expert on the equipment currently
manufactured by IBM, nor on that equipment presently in
development. Nor am I an expert on the details of equipment
offered by other manufacturers.
That having been said, I do want to confirm my long-time
interest in more efficient-information-processing-systems,
and particularly in increasing the effectiveness of
professional and administrative personnel.
