Approved i For Releass.,2001 /03 , R 4TRDP80B0150,60100040016-3 17 July 1974 rlt~ic ~+' ;i MEMORANDUM FOR: All NIOs and PP SUBJECT Military Data Bases 25X1A 25X1A Geor e Carver, Jr. Deputy for National Intelligence Officers D Attached are self-explanatory notes (just received) from OSR, concerning a survey related to potentia crises areas. This effort has been under- taken at the direction of the DCI with an eye toward ensuring that the Community's house is put in order (as much as it can be) before, rather than during or after a crisis. Obviously, the Community cannot become bogged down in compiling detailed data on every part of the world, but a selective survey of this nature should be of value in determining ahead of time (where possible) those military data analysts must have, the-data bases in existence, their degree of reciprocal compatibility (if any) and the availability of the data to the analysts in a time of crisis. I would like to take counsel with you on this survey at our Thursday, 18 July, NIO meeting. Approved For Release 2001 /04 .CIA-RDP80B0150OR000100040016-3
