SUBJECT: Conversation of 12 March 1980 (U)
1. Introduced He showed some of the background
materials for his operation. He was very well received and thanked
very cordially. (C/NF)
2. I presented my Third Anniversary Report. Stuck pretty well
to the outline. (C/NF)
3. On the subject of security, the comment was made that we,
Defense, and State all disseminate things too widely, e.g., Defense
had distributed 109 copies of one Top Secret report. (S/NF)
4. We discussed the PDB. Opinion was expressed that without
the INR summaries that Dr. Brzezinski had been sending in more recently,
there would be a dearth of current information. There was a desire for
news bulletins or brief news stories of what is going on around the
world. The annexes were praised as being worthwhile. Desire was
expressed for a Kiplinger-type bullet statement such as, "There is a
possible coup evolving in " If more was wanted, a tick would
be made and it could be provided the next day. (S/NF)
5. Ran out of time there. (U)
