Approved For Rele~te 2005/1.2/23 : CIA-RDP80B01554R043I00060022-0 8 rrUC 1977 SUBJECT: Conversation with Mr. Bob Fruchman, President, Lockheed Missile and Space Corporation 5 August 1977 1. I expressed my deep concern to Mr. Fruchman at the poor results of the surprise security inspection CIA conducted several weeks ago at LMSC. I pointed out that it was not the actual infractions themselves and the danger they individually posed to loss of security information that bothered me the most. Rather, I indicated it was the indication of a lax attitude towards security. The Boyce-Lee security failure was a matter, in my opinion, of carelessness engendered by similar attitudes. A number of the LMSC security discrepancies were indicative of an indifference to obvious security procedures. 2. I told Mr. Fruchman that I found it necessary to tell him that I was going to send a reinspection team out in ten days in the hope that they would either have corrected the discrepancies by then or have evidence of their plan of action to do so in those instances where it might require procurement or other actions that could not be accomplished within ten days. 3. Mr. Fruchman indicated his deep personal concern with this situation and his willingness to make every effort within the ten days.
