Dear Herman,
We are beginning to look to our autumn lecture program.
I would like to follow up on our discussion of last spring of the
possibility of your speaking to us. Could I propose the afternoon
of Wednesday, the 14th of November? I know it is a bit far away,
yet when your calendar begins to clear up at that distance let us
know. We will be glad to wait.
Since last seeing you I have finished reading War and Remembrance.
It is just super and very significant of your contributions to our
understanding of the world in which we live. I, with many other
Americans, am grateful to you.
Hope we will have a chance to visit even before November.
Maybe we could get you out for a luncheon with a few of our people
some day when the fury of SALT dies down a bit. It has me busy right
now but it i
