MEMORANDUM FOR: Director, National Foreign Assessment Center
FROM: Director of Central Intelligence
1. A few days ago I went down to the Agency cafeteria for lunch
and picked the. first person I came across to sit and have lunch with.
In the course of our discussion about his work, he indicated he had
written a paper on the Russian national character although he is working
in the LA Division of the DDO. I commented that from his paper and
my discussion with him it sounded as though his interests were much
more in the NFAC field.
2. I asked him to send me a copy of his paper which is attached
hereto.
3. What I did not know until after I got back to my office is
that he has been asked to leave DDO as a part of the FY-78 reduction.
You might want to take a look at him and see if he does. have some
potential for NFAC.
