THE NATIONAL WAR COLLEGE
OFFICE OF THE COMMANDANT
WASHINGTON 25, D. C.
JUN 7 ? 1V?
Dear Mr. McCone:
Executive Registry
The National War College wishes to repeat the briefings
of the past few years on the functions of the major departments and
agencies most closely concerned with national security policy. The
Central Intelligence Agency has a most important role in national
security matters, and I would like to provide the class with a back-
ground on the functions, organization and operation of the agency in
the field of intelligence gathering, evaluation, and coordination with
other departments of the government.
I would appreciate having the briefing on Tuesday, 9 October
1962 from 1400 to 1600 hours at The National War College. This
would be very convenient for our schedule since earlier on the same
day we plan to consider the subject of "Intelligence Considerations in the Formulation of National Security Policy."
If you can confirm the above time it will be appreciated if
you will provide the name of the officer who can work out the details
with Mr. Park F. Wollam, Department of National Strategy, The
National War College (Code 11, extension 58388).
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Lieutenant General, USAF
Commandant
The Honorable John A. McCone
Director,
Central Intelligence Agency
