I have had a number of discussions with students at the War College and members
of the staff. It has been suggested to .s that the Agency could greatly profit
by bringing the Wax College student body to the buildiug. I do not know whether
the opportunity to do this will arise during the present academic year. but if
* has a schedule such as the one they had on 9 October
when the full day was devoted to CIA, We right be an excellent opportunity
for an invitation to the building. It is possible that if they devote a period to

As you will remember, Mr. i .cCone, the Director of Central
Intelligence. and Mr. Lyman Kirkpatrick, the Executive Director.
made presentations before the National War College students on
9 October. Following the formal presentations Mr. McCone and
particularly Mr. Kirkpatrick met some of the students, several of
whom expressed a desire to visit CIA. Accordingly Mr. McCone
has asked me to extend his invitation to you to have the National War
College student body come to our CIA building at Langley, if this can
be scheduled. I do not know whether the opportunity to do this will
arise during the present academic year but if next year the War
College has a schedule such as the one they had on 9 October 1962
when the full day was devoted to CIA. this might provide an excellent
opportunity for the student body to visit CIA. It has also occurred
to us that should there be a discussion on the subject of counter-
insurgency at some time during the running of the 1962-65 Class,
this might afford an opportunity for the present Class to visit the
CIA.
In any event please be assured that the CIA extends you and the
student body a cordial invitation to visit our building at a time most
appropriate to you.
