: CIA/DIA Task Force on Soviet Military Plans, Capabilities and
REFERENCE:
Intentions
1. On 20 June 196Z the DC:I met with Mr. Roger Hilsman who asked
that the Devartment of State be advised of the findings of the referenced Task
Force and be given copies of any reports. It is my understanding that
Task Force will report through the USIB, and consequently the Department of
State will receive copies in that channel. However, will you please insure that
State promptly receives any reports.
Z. Would you arrange for bi-monthly reports on the Task Force,
its composition, its progress and its future program. I would suggest that this
be in the nature of a bi monthly progress report addressed to the USI8 through
the DDCI<

Reference State Department personnel contributions
to the National Indications Center, Roger Hilsman stated
that he will meet his commitment just as soon as he can
secure personnel. This will take a little time and he asked
for our indulgence. This :[ agreed to.
With respect to the CIA/DIA Task Force working
on Soviet future military plans, capabilities, and intentions,
Hilsman asked that State be advised of the findings of this
Task Force and be given copies of any reports. Will you
please arrange accordingly?
A- Also, would you please advise me from time to
time as to the composition of this Task Force, its progress
