Subsequent to our letter of 30 October we received from
General Eisenhower your letter of 24 October. The General
forwarded it with a personal note to our Director, Mr. McCone,
early in November.
We can appreciate your strong personal interest in again
serving the country and therefore can only regret that we can-
not now put to use the skills you offer. Please be assured
that with the endorsement of General Eisenhower we did search
all avenues.
Because of your desire to return to Government service
may we suggest direct inquiry to the Civil Service Commission.
We do not hire through the Commission but they could direct
you to other Departments and Agencies in which one or another
of your abilities might be used. Meanwhile, your file will be
kept at hand for consideration against future requirements.
