With reference to I I memorandum to me on 1 Novee-.ATINTL ber indicating that you want a prompt briefing by the CIA representative on Interdepartmental teams, the report to be available to you promptly and a brief summary of the principal findings, the following are the facts with reference to the Byroade mission. ,L a. When the Byroade team returned both Mr. Kirkpatrick and ,.rTse df talked to Ambassador Byroade and reported briefly to you on the general findings and conclusions which were almost com- pletely favorable. b. On 9 October the CIA representative STATINTL the Byroade team, briefed the senior staff meeting of the findings of that team. c. The initial copies (carbons) of the Byroade report were received in the Agency by me on Friday, 17 October, and were sent to the Deputy Director (Plans) inasmuch as Byroade was scheduled to make a presentation to the Special Group the following STATINTL week. d.
