My dear Mr. Dulles:
Information has been received by this
Bureau from an unimpeachable and most sensitive
source that a Soviet undercover espionage agent
operating in this country has been alerted to the
present international situation and received
instructions to develop information immediately
relative to the preparation of the United States
for mobilization and information relative to the
movement of military forces. In addition, this
undercover agent is being furnished in advance
reserve funds and supplies beyond the normal
amount for use in his communications.
The above information has been -made
available to appropriate officials of our Government.
