UNITED STATES INTELLIGENCE BOARD
SUBJECT: Electronics Inte.l.ligence
The Department of Defense has recently concluded a study
of the electronics intel.lige.nce resources and procedures of the
United States. As a result of this study the Department of Defense
Directive on Electronics Intelligence has been revised. The re-
vision embodies recommendations to define re sponsibi.lities for
operatio.na.l control, strengthen the technical control of co.l.lection
and processing, centralize the supervision of foreign .liaiso.n and
establish procedures for a consolidated review of ELINT require-
rne.nts a.nd resources.
Copies of the revised Department of Defense Directive o.n
Electronics Intelligence will be forwarded for the members of the
United States Intelligence Board upon publication.
