Position Papers for Standing Group Estimate for NATO Planning" 1. The U. S. Member of the 3tanding Group Intelligence Committee has requested the names of the U. S. Delegation to the Ad Hoc Intelligence Working Group (AHIWG) for the prepara- tion of SG 161/14 under the provisions of reference a above. 2. The Director for Intelligence, Joint Staff, invites participation of your representatives as members of the U. S. Delegation on the following subcommittees: a. Political b. Economic It is anticipated that the representative you nominate for the Economic subcommittee will be invited to serve as the U. S. Team spokesman and subcommittee Chairmai. It is requested that your nominations be restricted to one delegate and one alternate for each subcommittee or position in view of the expected limited size of the visiting delegations from France and the United Kingdom. 3. In addition, and in accordance with the agreed procedures for the preparation of the U. S. Position Paper, reference b, you are invited to nominate a representative to assist and - advise the head of the U. S. Delegation who will represent the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the United States Intelligence Board and serve as Chairman of the Steering Committee.
