MEMORANDUM FOR: DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE
SUBJECT: Agreed Guidance for Implementing the Presidential
Directive on Disclosures of Classified Intelligence
General Cabell?s memorandum on the subject, dated June
29, 1960, has been received, together with the attached document
which was approved by the United States Intelligence Board on
June 21, 1960, in the implementation of the Presidential Directive
of May 23, 1960 on the subject of "Disclosures of Classified
Intelligence. "
In order that there may be made available to the President
at an appropriate time information concerning progress made in
the implementation of his directive of May 23, 1960, as specified
in paragraph 4 thereof, it would be appreciated if you would
forward to me for the President, at the earliest practicable date,
a.report concerning actions taken by the Departments and Agencies
in response to the agreed guidance which has been set forth in
the USIB document on the subject.
