MEMORANDUM FOR: THE DIRECTOR
The attached is a proposed reply to the Na-
tional Park Service letter of 17 October 1957
requesting that we seek an additional appropriation
in the amount of $1,063,600 for the completion of
the George Washington Menorial Parkway.
Conrad Wirth has already agreed orally to
finance this in some other way but is anxious to
receive our written reply for his files. I would
like to deliver it to him today if possible.
