I wish to express my gratitude for your participation in the
nonmilitary defense briefing which we presented last week to
the American Bar Association.
In making such a presentation, it is, of course, essential that
those in attendance be properly oriented. The summary which
you gave of the current situation contributed substantially to
this and was most helpful in achieving one of our principal
objectives -- that of showing the relationship of nonmilitary
defense to our total defense posture.
