Dear Mr. Dulles:
In accordance with JCS approval, the Department of the Army
has charged the U. S. Army Intelligence School with developing a
Senior Foreign Officers Intelligence Course, with special emphasis
on Latin America and Southeast Asia. The school is also charged
with support of U. S. Army Intelligence Courses for Latin American per-
sonnel at Fort Gulick, Canal Zone, and for Asian military personnel
.at Okinawa, as well as support of intelligence training by our Army
.MAAGs and Missions.
It seems evident that it would be in our National interest if
ciirect liaison contact could be permitted between the school and
the Training Division of your Agency.
Major General Prather, who commands our Army Intelligence
C;enter and hence the Intelligence School, informs me that rep-
resentatives of the Central Intelligence Agency have indicated a
v~~illingness to assist but that a formal indication of our re-
quirement for direct liaison is needed.
The Assistant Commandant, U. S.
will identify and indicate clearance statusrof designated liaisonol,
peersonnel from the Army Intelligence School, and make such other
arrangements as may be desired at your convenience.
