In addition, that 100 copies more are being primed and that all should be ready by the first of August. 2. This is to inform you that the Director and I take a dim view of this procedure. Thera is simply no point in getting Into you know what kind of a match with a skunk. To print this rebuttal unclassified can only result in Its Inure to p lic dissemination (which may have been the purpose in the first place) and will leave Tully no recourse but to respond. This then puts Sberman Kent in the wrong kind of match with the wrong kind of skunk. and will serve no useful purpose other than to increase the sales of Tally's book. result in numerous comment*. book reviews, letters to the press, etc., and in general serve to continue something that appears to be Well an the way toward dying. 3. Accordingly, I desire that you either destroy all of the unclassified printed copies and retain only enough. classified as Secret, to cover our files; or# as an alternative. you may classify the rebuttal Secret and include it in the classified portion of the "Studies in Intelligence. " b. Re distribution -- attached is normal distribution list for'Studies. " c. One hundred extra copies were ordered - per Rita -- since you and Mr. Kirkpatrick had not decided exactly what you planned to do with this and it cost no more to get an additional hundred than it did an additional twenty.
