It is difficult to separate fact from fiction but most informed observers believe that the Government will not long survive. Houston and Warner continue to try to get the CIA House Subcommittee to schedule a meeting with the DCI. The full Armed Services Committee has been fully occupied with the Military Posture and Authorization Hearings. The Hearings have been going on morning, noon, evening and Saturdays. It looks as though the first chance to meet with the subcommittee will be sometime after the first of March. 4. Here are some interesting nuggets from the DD/S area: a. DIA Salary and Wage administrators have been consulting with ours about grading problems in DIA. DIA seems concerned about the high number of jobs in DIA at GS-14 and 15--some 14% of the DIA force is in GS-14 and an additional 14%is in GS-15. This contrasts to 7% 14's in CIA and 4% GS-15's.
