Morning Meeting of 23 November 1965
DDCI was in the chair. DCI was at a meeting of the PFIAB.
DDI noted receipt of a letter from the Director of NSA to DCI
registering concern about data to

considered them but intend to continue to

At DDCI inquiry Warfield reported arrangements for 25X1
this afternoon.
Houston reported that Senator Symington is planning a trip to the
Far East but not to Vietnam. Arrangements will be made to give the
Senator a briefing.

DDS&T reported completion of a successful U-2 mission over
South China last night.
DDS&T reported that the R&D briefing presented to Agency officers
by the Army yesterday was full, extensive, and useful. The Navy will
make a similar presentation on 14 December.
DDS&T reported completion by JAEIC of a community response
to General Wheeler, who recently wrote to the DCI asking about
intelligence capabilities versus nuclear proliferation. Bross requested
that DDS&T match the JAEIC response with an Agency statement
answering a similar PFIAB request to make sure that they are con-
sistent
DDS&T reported that at DCI request a meeting is scheduled for
tomorrow to discuss with a official the subject
DDP initiated a discussion of the question of logistics capabilities
for supply of Communist troops via roads through Laos and of the
number of troops and current Communist military operations near
Plei Mei. It was agreed that DDP and R. J. Smith would give this
further consideration privately.
