DD/S&T reported he had talked with General Davis about an Air Force R&D briefing of the Agency as discussed at the Morning Meeting yesterday. The agenda has been revised and the time for the briefing changed to 13 October. It was agreed that Elder would write to Army and Navy R&D chiefs proposing similar briefings. Parrott reported that he will meet soon with General Taylor and it was agreed that in the course of this meeting Parrott will take up certain PFIAB matters which have not been satisfactorily handled recently in the Agency's view. Warner reported status of continuing efforts to hold further meetings with Congressional subcommittees. Representative Rivers has asked that there be no meetings pending his return on about 18 October. Senator Russell has asked his staff to get more informa- tion for him on the Agency's budget. Warner reported that Senator Morse has asked to have breakfast with the DCI tomorrow morning here at Headquarters. DDCI and Sherman Kent will attend. IG reported on completion of two of four surveys under way in DD/S. He also noted virtual completion of the surve Headquarters component of WE Division. reported to the group on aspects of his post ,in support of Secretaries McNamara and Vance. (See Action 1) It was agreed that the Agency must do more to provide with-the degree of support required, and this was the subject of a separate meeting following the Morning Meeting in the DDCI's office. reported that four OSI people are attending the international symposium on desalinization. He also reported that there is a large Soviet delegation, in attendance. Several formal dissents remain. briefed on details concerning the latest ROLLING THUNDER strike in which seven SAM's were fired and five U. S. aircraft lost. DD/I and DCI traded compliments, the DD/I relaying thanks from General Taylor for the Indo-China map folio, and DCI relaying Vice President Humphrey's kudos on the DD/I presentation at the recent meeting of Southeast Asian planners.
