Morning Meeting of 8 July 1966
ADDI briefed on the highlights of the second bucket of the latest
satellite mission.
ADDI reported on the status of the various portions of the study
in depth being done on the Vietnam situation in answer to inquiries
from Secretary McNamara. Outlook is for completion of the study
during the last half of August. DCI asked that the study be expedited
to the maximum extent possible. He asked that the various parts of
this study not be disseminated around town until the entire package
is completed and given to the Secretary. The Secretary is primarily
interested in matters pertaining to morale.
Godfrey reported that the OCI memo concerninguhad been
recalled and OCI has since revamped procedures relating to the release
of intelligence memos for dissemination.
