He said that there is enough uncertainty to warrant a continued close watch. He does not intend to distribute the memorandum outside of Head- quarters. He noted that the memorandum on bomb damage in Hanoi which the Director requested yesterday might be finished by COB today. Kent informed the Director that ACDA is apparently interested in the problems of verifying a truce agreement in Vietnam. Carver reported that he will be workin closel with Admiral Showers on investigating a compromise of He noted a cable concerning Senator Symington's desire to meet with Major Mai. He said that Chalmers Roberts called him for lunch. The Director approved this meeting but warned him to avoid the subject of bombing in North Vietnam. Bross reported that the Secretary of Defense has signed the JIIRG report and that it will reach the Agency sometime this morning. Executive Director noted that the Agency will participate in a Brookings Institution program to expose business executives to Govern- ment operations. The first group of approximately thirty will visit Headquarters on 20 January. After lunch there will be a short presenta- tion followed by a question period. The DTR will be the action officer. Warner mentioned that Philip Kelleher asked him about the item in the Washington Post concerning the Director and Walt Rostow. The Director discussed an Agency report (See Action 1) The Director briefed on his meeting with the Secretary of State yesterday afternoon. (See Action 2) ACTIONS: 2.
