MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
Morning Meeting of 28 November 1966
Ann/T hriiefPd the Director on the intelligence gained from
Mission 1037, particularly the Chinese missile range
and five Soviet ICBM complexes.
Godfrey suggested that the status of the Israeli -Jordanian crisis
will permit stopping publication of periodic situation reports. The Direc 25X1
tor agreed.
Godfrey reported that Bromle Smith had indicated that the interim
memorandum o was well received by the President
and suggested a post-mortem on the Operation. Bromley Smith had said
there is no rush, and Godfrey suggested that preparation of a memorandum
be delayed until the full returns are in. The Director agreed.
Kent asked the Director about the proposed agenda for his meeting
with the Joint Chiefs on 30 November. The Director said he will address
himself to only two of the questions (OCI and ONE will prepare joint
drafts) and the question of intelligence requirements. The Director indi-
cated that he would like the OCI/ONE drafts tomorrow.
Carver called the Director's attention to an outgoing cable on the
Communist cease-fire proposals. He informed the Director of answers
and action in train on interest expressed by Moyers' office on analysis
of the bombing in North Vietnam.
In reply to a question, Warner assured the Director that a file is
being maintained on the Agency's briefings of congressmen on overseas
trips.

The Director indicated to Bross that he would like to get together
with him, perhaps tomorrow, on the upcoming PFIAB meetings.
A-DD/S&T reported that the TACKLE mission Friday night had
been successfully executed and that another will be scheduled in the
next few days.
A-DD/S&T outlined the satellite reconnaissance launch schedule
and remarked on a Soviet space effort launched at 6 a. m. EST this
morning.
DD/P reported that the briefing for Senator Jackson in Saigon is
in hand. He called attention to an outgoing cable to
and reminded that the head of the service will be at Headquarters today.
The Director initiated discussion on a State cable from Moscow on
Soviet leadership and a news article by Marshall Shulman on Soviet
policies.
