ornnrr Approved For Release 2008/03/03: CIA-RDP80B01676R001500080058-3 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD Morning Meeting of 6 October 1966 6 October 1966 DD/I reported on a study of Communist military assistance to Indonesia, completed at the indirect request of the Vice President. He intends to add limited distribution. The Director thanked him. DD/I reported that he is in contact with Bill Bundy concerning intelligence support for the Presidential party. He said that an OCI officer will be on hand to assist the station. Lehman briefed on the casualty figures from Operation in 25X1 South Vietnam. Kent reported that as of yesterday DIA wished to move a sentence from the end of the Estimate on Philippine security into the Conclusions. DD/I favored the intended results, and the Director expressed general agreement. Carver outlined the confusion presently attending the Secretary of Defense's proposal to reorganize the pacification program. Bross mentioned a requirement on Cuban overflights which was pending as a result of a conversation between the Director and the Secretary of Defense. The Director asked for a review of the problem showing our present knowledge of Cuba's military assets and examin- ing the whys and wherefores of continuing these flights at such a high incidence. He felt they might be cut by as much as 50 percent.
