MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
1. Admiral Raborn has inquired regarding the question
of payment by the Agency of the cost of his return travel and
transportation of household effects to his home In California.
Coats of travel and moving to-#* Washington area were paid
by the Agency upon his appointment as DCI. His present
plans call for him to reermin in the Washington area for some
tirrce.
2. The General Counsel advised the undersigned on
12 July 1966 that the Agency has the authority to pay for return
travel and shipment of household effects to place of prior resi-
dence upon termination of employment with the Agency. As a
matter of Agency policy, however, such payment has been
extended only in a restricted number of cases where there was
an adequate Justification and has been limited to a period of one
year following termination of employment with the Agency.
