SUBJECT: Telephone Call from Mr. Clark M. Clifford
1. On 1 March 1966 I was in the Director's office when he re-
ceived a telephone call from Mr. Clark M. Clifford, Chairman of
the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.
2. Mr. Clifford told the Director that he had recently conferred
with the President and had told him that he thought the CIA had done
a commendable job in its assessment and accurate and timely report-
ing of the recent incidents in Uganda, Syria, and Ghana. Mr.
Clifford said that the President had agreed and went on to say that
he was very pleased with the Agency and its performance in keep-
ing the President and other policy-making officials informed.
