The photography covered two ports, two air- fields and one launch area of a previously identified MRBM site. (See Figures 1 and 3.) SUMMARY 1. Photography of one launch area at Sagua La Grande MRBM Site 2 shows that no change has occurred in the status of this area since 1 Novem- ber. The site probably has no operational capability. 2. The location of the ballistic missiles and launch equipment removed from the sites remains unknown, 3. Transport and construction equipment was noted at the port of La Isabela, but whether it had been recently unloaded or was to be loaded for shipment cannot be determined. 4. The status of assembly or disassembly of the IL-28 bombers at San Julian airfield cannot be determined. Site 2 (22-39-10N 79-51-55W) Last coverage: 3 November 1962. Saturday, a. Readiness Status This site probably has no operational capability. b. Supporting Evidence While only one launch position at this MRBM site was covered on this mission, its obvious abandonment suggests that this entire site has been evacuated and continues inactive. The 13 oxidizer trailers that were first observed on parked in a support area between the two launch positions are still parked at this location. In addition to these trailers, the following items were also noted in the area: 1 cherry picker, 28 vans,, 3 open bodied trucks, 2 tank trucks, and a theodolite shack. c. Significant Trends There is no apparent change in the portion of this MRBM site covered since last seen on Thursday, 1 November 1962. NUCLEAR WARHEADS FOR OFFENSIVE MISSILES 2. In the missions on 3 November 1962, no coverage of the probable nuclear bunkers was obtained. 25X1 25X1 25X1 TOP SECRET 25X1 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 I VI JL\.I'V I SUPPLY AND LOGISTICS Port Cienfuegos 3. The port of Cienfuegos was covered but no missile-associated equipment was observed. Santa Clara Airfield 4. No missile-associated activity and no offensive aircraft were seen on 3 November. San Julian Airfield (Figure 2) 5. Incomplete photographic coverage of the airfield on 3 November does not permit us to determine whether assembly of the IL-28 bombers is continuing. One operational UIL-28, one probably completed IL-28, and five other IL-28s not completely assembled were seen. 6. Shipping crates for four IL-28's were observed on 3 November at the railhead of the San Julian airfield, MendozoO Isabel Rubio, located 3.5 nm northeast of the field. The incomplete, low-level coverage of the air- field makes it impossible to determine whether these four aircraft are being shipped into or out of the San Julian vicinity. Port La Isabela (Figure 4) 7. Photography of this port on 3 November 1962 revealed two Soviet freighters at dockside: the ALAPAYEVSK and a sister ship. The following items were located in the dock area: 13 ATS prime movers 12 ATT prime movers TOP SECRET Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 e vI ~JLi~I\L I 14 compressor /generators 8 tractors (small type) 15 tank trucks (not missile propellant) 2 motorized cranes 1 grader 7 jeeps 3 "low boy" trailers (2 with crates) 9 vans (arched-roof type) 1 "cherry picker" It cannot be definitely determined whether this equipment is being loaded or unloaded. A majority of the vehicles and equipment was pointed toward the docks. No critical missile-associated equipment was observed in this area. GUIDED MISSILE PATROL CRAFT (Figure 5) 8. Four KOMARs are alongside the pier at Banes. In a nearby security fenced area, one possible drive-through tent about and eleven gable-roofed crates about were observed. 25X1 25X1 25X1 TOP SECRET 25X1 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 Next 1 Page(s) In Document Denied Iq Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 Approved For Release 2008/04/03: CIA-RDP80BO1676R002000020007-3 ANDROS ISLAND LA 1SABELA 0 SAGUA LA GRANDE MRBM SITE 2 rA CLARA AIRFIELD FIGURE 3.
