1.~. Colonel Bair. d spoke on the next Y,gcncy :orientation course
which begins ori. Jet` cr-= He said there wore curtain changes in the
course a d that the new one would be beamed at older oi;nploycr,-s as "1e11
as incoming ones. It will, therefore, be necessary to give ne w
employees a prior briefing on the position of the Agency in the intol--
ligonco fraternity.
There was some discussion in regard. to
suggestion that all of the Assistant Directors appear at the ;'iret
orientation session to be introduced by the; Director or the D{.:outy
Director. Mr. Dulles f,,els that this would he a waste of time.
Mr. Rebor stated that he boliovod it might be a valuable idea for
morale building purposes. dise:.gree::d with this and
felt that the primary morale builder was the knowledge of what the
various Offices in CLL. accomplished. Mr. Dulles suggested a modification
in the program so as not to have mass attendance by the flssietruit
Directors. They should be fitted in only where necessary.
said that in 0/SO the iassistent Director
and his Deputy met the new mployocs once (,very two weeks. Sen(, such
procedure is employed by some of the other Offices and yx. Dulles
stated that this was a procedure that should be follow.,d by all Offices.
5. Mr. Douglass brought up a personnel problem that was
becoming somowiiat rying To 0/01. He feels that many- of the personnel
in the overt offices spend too mach time azt their desks in Pish.ington
and they have evidenced a groat desire to travel. a is air-aid that
consequently he may lose a number to SO or PC. 1'Jr. Dulles sub ostcd
