mEh:DRAlflUM TO
At the Director's Staff Meeting this morning, very fetiw iteias
came up for discussion. Br. Jackson mentioned that there had been a
r eting between himself, Mr. and Dr. Langer in regard to
the DAILY SUbll AUY, and that it had been decided that this would be
produced by OCI. He also mentioned setting up a meeting to discuss
State cables with the State Department. 11r. Heber said that this
had already been taken up and that M,1r. Armstrong "had softened uu.
Mr. Barnes." He believed that no further action should be taken
until OCI was ready to produce the DAILY.
Zeber mentioned the IAC standing Committee and sub esteci
that he be allowed to explore further the possibilities of really
putting this Committee to work as a staff for IAC matters. He
was especially interested in inter-Agency problems outside of the
NIE field. Mr. Jackson agreed that such a further exploration
would be advisable, primarily to see whether the Standing Coimait:ee
should stand or fail, and what matters they could cope with.
Br. vcCorrriel brought up the question as to whether
should work for .r. Baird and was told that this had been decided
and that Owas already working; for Baird.
There was some discussion in re ;ard to the Graphics people
25X1 and Mr. 0 stated that it was proposed that =should have
one, OPC - two, and MR - two to three. There would also >robably
be an additional group of four housed in ORi to be used for onerai
Agency purposes. These fi-ures are over and above those necessary
for the situation room, vo deci.~ion was arrived at, and it lira
suggested that the subject be brought up on the agenda for the
