Mr. stated that a representative II might make
a presentation at the IAC Meeting on 9 August cover ng the
subject of fabricated intelligence.
25X1 I noted that the NSC at its meeting today will
discuss NSC 1 , and at the IAC Meeting tomorrow the DCI plans
to discuss ONE's crash estimate on the possibility of war in
September. He also said that General Marshall was somewhat con-
cerned over the number of reports which had been received re-
garding the possibility of a general war in September.
25X1 Mr. read an article from a West Coast Communist news-
paper concerning the length of CIA's Personal History Statement
required from prospective employees.
Colonel Hansen stated that:

a. The Senate Appropriations Committee has approved
our budget without curtailment.
b. Mr. Kohlberg has written another letter accusing
us of employing on a Consultant basis.
I&S is checking the riles prior to drafting a
reply,
c. ABC now has a weekly program wherein the main
character is represented as a CIA "world-wide
agent". Colonel Hansen has requested and re-
ceived a play-back of one of these programs in
order to check what is being said concerning
our operations.

Mr. stated that Trubee Davison had authorized 0
additional ersonnel procurement officers, which number
now brings our total in this activity to Mr.O also
stated that CIA had a net gain of employees during the
month of July.
