He also said that General Marshall was somewhat con- cerned over the number of reports which had been received re- garding the possibility of a general war in September. 25X1 Mr. read an article from a West Coast Communist news- paper concerning the length of CIA's Personal History Statement required from prospective employees. Colonel Hansen stated that: 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 a. The Senate Appropriations Committee has approved our budget without curtailment. b. Mr. Kohlberg has written another letter accusing us of employing on a Consultant basis. I&S is checking the riles prior to drafting a reply, c. ABC now has a weekly program wherein the main character is represented as a CIA "world-wide agent". Colonel Hansen has requested and re- ceived a play-back of one of these programs in order to check what is being said concerning our operations. stated that he had an appointment with General Counsel oe~ easury Department Mr. Reber reported that: a.
