DAILY STAFF MEETING
Monday, 11 January 1952
PRESENT: Messrs. Becker, Reber,
and Mrs.
1. Mrs. called attention/to the NSC meeting scheduled for
Wednesday, 16 anua , and stated e Agenda information would be
distributed today.
-2. Mr. advised that the DCI would go to New Ynrk -tomorrow
morning and then again on Thursday morning. The time of return, in both
cases, is not yet known.
3. Mr. Becker mentioned a matter he has discussed with the DCI: and
Dr. Chadwell concerning JCS plans to set un a SIC-type subcommittee under
JIG for the coordination of SIC problems within Defense. It was agreed
by the Director that from an Agency point of view, there was no real.
opposition to such a committee.
4. Col. reported briefly on the latest findings of the
ad hoc CIA Building Committee. A memorandum is to be presented to the
DCI for decision.
5. Mr. presented two items taken from the weekly reports
submitted by the neral Counsel and the Comptroller to DD/A. One item
concerned PSB's approach to developing a legislative program. Mr. Becker
and Mr.~nade strong recommendations that PSB representatives be
advised to brief Director, PSB to effect that this matter shhuld be
discussed personally with the DCI.
6. Mr. Reber stated that the diversion of views re -NTSCID-l has now
been solved to the extent that the matter can be presented to the IAC fcr
final solution.
7. Mr. Reber also noted varic,s problems regarding crininal
jurisdictions in both which would renuire coordinated
action between State and Defense as we.- as CIA.
