1. Mrs. noted there would be no Senior NSC Staff Mee;t.'nr
this afternoon and a Mr. Dulles would go to PSB meeting vice thE: DCI.
(Later during the morning the DCI decided to attend).
2. Mr. Reber reported that he was having an informal meeting
this. morning with representatives of State and PSB on Psychological Warfare
research problems.
3. Mr. Becker said there probably would not be a AD meetin
until Monday, lI January.
4. Mr. Becker announced that Mr. - would be the ExeeutivF-
Assistant to the Director and was alrer.(Ty assum'ng some of the duties.
The personnel problem will. be diffiicu1+ during the position shifts --
Mr. Becker to DD/I and Mr. to Exec. Ass'tuntil addittcnal
personnel arrive (Capt. is expected in a few days).
5. A brief discussion resulted from Col. - raising the

question of advising Sen. Taft of some of the Agency's activities in li:7't
of recent adverse criticisms made by the Senator. It was recognized that,
during the campaigns to follow, much harm could result from Sery-s
complete lack of knowledge of certain Agency activities. Col. ha;

discussed this matter briefly with Mx. Pforzheimer and is to pursue it
further before presenting a recommendation to the DCI. Col. staters
