Asked Mr. Becker to introduce Secretary Pace at the Indoctrination Course at 11 a.m., 11 April. Mr. Becker undertook to do so. 25X1 25X1 25X1 b. Briefly discussed the conversation he had with a certain inuividual on 9 Ar it concerning the procurement and delivery of a printing press to and stated that if a commitment on our part had been made he intendfd to follow through. Noted that he and Mr. 'Wisner had attended a meeting yesterday of the Joint Chiefs and stated that he was firmly convinced that CIA should have an observer at all such meetings. a. faised the question of reporting to the President on the Bolivian Revolution and, after some discussion, Mr. Dulles asked DD/L' and DD/_1 to prepare such a report to be included in the President's Book. b. Noted that he had received a reoort from Col. Edwards on the inui.vicial in Budget whom they desired to designate as the working level liaison officer to CIA. Mr. Dulles asked that this report be given his secretary to include in, the 25X1 folder of papers he was holding for the DCI. 25X1 concerning confirmed the statement that tie Problem in connection eretin was he responsibility of State and we could do nothing further until State takes action. Discussed certain items to be taken up with Ambassador Bruce today and noted that he would have a memorandum for Mr. Dulles by noon concerning the PSB. e. Stated that he had orepared in one copy only a certain memorandum of conversation. Mr. Dulles said he would show this to the Director upon his return and then decide what further distribution would be made of this mcmora.ndum. Mr. Becker noted that we had received an unconfirmed report that the r'rench n,.d a plan to evacuate, if necessary, from Tonkin to Annam and stated that he was making a further check on this information. a. Stated that Mr. Pforzheimer had reported to him that Congressman Bisbey had indicated that he would raise the matter of Form 57 in a s: -each 25X1 on the Floor after the raster recess. Mr. Hedden also said that Busbey had indicated there were certain other "things" about CIA which he would include in his speech. Mr. Hedden is discussing this matter with Senator Dirksen and Col. Hr. Wisner noted that since Proudy was a member of the Veterans Committee there was a possibility that he might be leadinc,, up to the number of veterans employed by CIA. d.
