a. Stated he desired to hold another meeting on the "Merger Paper" some
time during the period 1 - 15 August inclusive.

c. Referred to a cable received. from concernin the recruitment
and training of 1500 Iron Curtain Nationals to be used by SHAPE and asked
Mr. Wisner to prepare a reply for his (the .BCI ' s) approval.
d. Noted the item in today's Log concerning the Bureau of the _?udget's
stand on our air conditioning equipment and gave Col. White detailed instructions
as to how he desired this matter handled.

a. Noted that the President had expressed an interest in the Ce sev.age
system and stated that he had prepared a report to be included in the next brink
for the President.

b. Stated that the Executive Uo n:nittee of NCFE had exoressed a desire to
talk th the Director and suggested that these people have lunch here with tie
DCI on Monday, 4 August. The Director approved and concurred in Mr. Hedden's
suggestion that also attend this luncheon. Mr. Dulles undertook to
extend the invitations.

c. Noted that he was ready to report to the Director on the "Dean i{atti#ar."
a. Gave a further report on the International Red Cross meetin mentioned
by Mr. Becker on 16 July and stated that (1) this meeting was 'being held in 2 5X1
Toronto on 26 July; (2) there would be quite a delegation attending from the
Soviet orbit; (3) the Russians might very well use this aeetin as a souruiin; 25X1
board in their BW campaign; (4) State had been made aware of this meeting and
were planning to send representatives in addition to those attending as deie;ates
from the U.S. Red Cross; (5)1

a. Noted that the Director might expect a call from either Lawton or
Staats concerning the availability of the Iiunitions and/or Navy Buildings.
25X1 Ned that had reported for duty as Chief of the new
2 5X ivision and asked the Director if he desired to see him. The
DCI indicated that he did at some convenient time in the near future.
