Mr. Wisner stated in this connection that 25X1 things have recently taken a turn for the better in our dealings with the French there and he believed this was a result of our conversations with 25X1 He also referred to a cable which had been received on this matter and 25X1 a. Noted that the conference on the budget was meeting at 10 a.ia. and we should have a report later today. In this connection, the Director received a call from Senator Ferguson's office giving final approval on our request to allocate $750,000 for the purpose of air conditioning ty b,00Q,ngs. The Director stated that while the original request as for ar to spend the additional amount to air condition the infirmary and such places as might be needed. and such other Mr. Becker: a. Reported that he did not have a paper on the President's proposed economic conference in the Middle East as yet; however, he would have something for the Director before he next went to the White House. b.
