Deputies' Meeting

PRESENT: General Smith, Messrs. Dulles, Wisner, Wolf, Becker, Hedden,E
Mr. Dulles:

Committee had requested that either the Director, Mr. Dulles, or Mr. Wisner
a. Stated that (1) he had received a call from the Committee 25X1
last evening and had been advised that had submitted his 25X1
outlined in (2) above.
After some discussion, the DCI stated that we should retain 25X1
and directed that Messrs. Wisner and Wolf go to or the purpose 2;25X1
visit to discuss in particular what was expected of them.
by Headquarters, USAF, that any necessary audit of CAT would be "handled by
Air Force Headquarters in Washington". The DCI (1) approved; (2) stated he
would discuss this matter with Gen. Samford when he saw him today; (3) directed
Mr. Wisner to prepare an appropriate cable of instructions to the CG FSAF which
would be dispatched by Headquarters, USAF. (NOTE: After the meeting this matter
was discussed by the DCI and DD/P with Gen. Samford and Mr. Wisner undertook to
deliver the above cable to Gen. Saraford for necessary coordination and dispatch.)
Far Eastern District, USAF, regarding CAT and recommended that FEAF be directed
concerning a request or information from the Auditor Genera ,
would be present during the interview. The DCI approved. (NOTE: This
appointment has been scheduled for 3 p.m. 9 September.)
