PRESENT: Mr. Dulles, neral Cabell, Messrs. Wisner, Wolf, Amory,

office present. (NOTE: It was subsequently determined that Mr-

b. Asked Mr.IIto ensure that WE coordinated with

will be furnished the Director for his approval prior to dispatch.)
c. Raised the assignment of to
the Secretary of State as his Aide during the Secretary's visit to
the Near-Middle East, and asked DD/P to furnish General Cabell the
status of ITDY to CIA. General Cabell noted that even though
would be-no problem involved in detailing him to the Secretary of
State for the above indicated purpose. The Director stated if this
was done he did desire that General Partridge be advised.
d. Noted the first item in today's Log and expressed the view
that in some instances our more important requests to the FBI should
be handled orally rather than in writing.
e. Noted the President's intention to allow the entry of
240 000 aliens above the normal quota
Mr. Wisner said this was already
under consideration and the Director stated he would also mention this
to C.D,.Jackson at today's PSB Luncheon.

fact, had asked the Joint Chiefs of Staff to look into V 21s problem.

to speak to C. D. Jackson on this.

Mr. Amory:
a. Stated that we continue to receive reports that personnel
of several Soviet Embassies were exhibiting signs of nervousness
apparently over fear of being recalled to Russia, and asked DD/P
to report their observations in this regard.
Isaid a we already had a standing order to this effect.
a. Reported that he had received a request from, several staff
members of the Jackson Committee for the amounts of our expenditures
in connection with The Director
noted he was appearing before the Jackson Committee on the 29th and
would discuss this matter with the Committee at that time. The
Director also remarked he had been advised that the report of the
Jackson Committee would be closely held when published.
