SUBJECT: The Petersen Case
DATE: 30 November 1954
1. I was informed by 0 of NSA this date that Senator Magnusonts
Office had made inquiry at the National Security Agency for information on the
background of the Petersen Case.
2. I k informed me that he had given Sena-cor Magnusonts Office
the facts of the case as already made publicly known and referred Senator
Magnusonts Office to the Department of Justice for any further details they
might wish to know. I I stated that the inquirer seemed to be satisfied
with the explanation given by and indicated that it would not be
necessary to contact Justice in view of the details provided by
3. 0 indicated that he did not get the impression that there
was any particular interest on the part of Senator Magnuson but rather that
the inquiry was for the purpose of answering a letter which had been received
in Senator Zlagnuson's Office.
