MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. Lee
1. Please note the attached memorandum from our
General Counsel setting forth his opinion on the possibility
of conflicts of interest at the time Mr. McCone becomes DCI.
As you suggested, Mr. Houston attempted to get a list of
Mr. McCone's holdings from the Joint Committee on Atomic
Energy, but was advised that the Committee viewed this list
as privileged information and refused to release it to us with-
out written approval from Mr. McCone -- even though we
indicated that he had authorized us to obtain it in the first
instance.
2. Houston would like to review this list and if you do
not have a copy, I believe a telephone call to George Murphy
of the Committee would be all that is necessary to make it
available to us.
