1, Attached is a recent report from the Director of
Logistics which furnishes currect information on the recommenda-
tions made by the inspector General upon which action had not
been completed at the time of the last report,
2, Twelve recommendations have subsequently been completed,
twenty-seven continue in process, and two have not been implemented,
3. In Reference (b) you approved both of the recommendations
which have not been implements (Category 1, Item 69, and Category
3, Item 3). Further consideration of these recommerdations as
outlined in the report has lead to the conclusion that it would
be in the best interest of the Agency not to put them into effect.
4. It is recommended that you concur in this conclusion.

MEMORANDUM FOR: THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR
In accordance with the Inspector General's
suggestion, Mr. Saunders and I have discussed with
him the suggestion of the Office of Logistics that
their inspection capabilities and responsibilities
not be increased. Mr. Kirkpatrick now agrees with
this recommendation and is satisfied to accept both
non-implementations recommended by the Office of
Logistics in their memorandum of 20 December 1955.
