Dear Jim:
Clover. with whom I shared your letter, and I both
appreciated bo&OA` from you and Margaret. In particular I
wanted to thank you for what you way about developments affecting
me. I stall give you the whole story when we naafi met, Which
I hope will be soon, and the charms of Pinckney Island. have lift
their deep impression on both of no.
I shall ,probably turn over. this job in about a month
from now, giver or take a week or two. John McCoae and I will
be going to Europe
early in November.
My plans for the future are somewhat indefinite and I
do not expect to give much thought to this until I have left this
desk. In any event, we will be staying in Washington for some
little time as I have some writing I want to do not related to my
work here except indirectly, but more generally to what the
Communist threat means for us.
