The primary activity of Cuban Aid Relief has been in the
financial support and placement of Cuban Refugees at the
professional level ... doctors, lawyers, architects,
engineers, etc.... and to the writer's knowledge, it is
the only organization attempting to render such service
to all professions. The Cuban professional is a person
of sensitive pride. Many of them registered with us
have not, and will not apply for assistance under the
Government programs at the Cuban Refugee Center in Miami.
If our Cuban registrants must be told that Cuban Aid
Relief's distinctive efforts for them must now be
discontinued, or drastically curtailed, due to lack of
support, prestige of free enterprise and the factors which
represent it in their mind will be further decreased.
If our small, but important efforts are to continue, it is
important that we have some form of Government support. May
I ask your indulgence for a personal interview to discuss
this vitally important situation.
