Thank you for your recent letter. It recalls my
pleasant memory of travelling with you when Mrs. Dulles
and I visited Europe in 1939.
Lot me assure you that we have a particular
interest in the careers of military personnel who serve
with the Agency. In this connection, we have been
informed that all information bearing on your performance
wMle with this Agency has been brought to the attention
of appropriate offihials in the United States Navy.
I do not know what weight it will carry, but I am
sending along a letter to the Chief of Naval Personnel,
setting forth my personal appreciation of your capabilities.
