1. This memorandum suggests action on the part of the lam.
Such requ.sted action is contained in paragraph 4.
2. Mr. Goldberg is presently with the American delegation
in Paris attending the UNESCO Conference. He has addressed a note
to the DCI requesting an appointment upon his return to discuss the
Indonesian. situation. Mr. Goldberg is a member of the staff of the
international Affairs Department of the AFL-CIO and makes his head-
quarters here in Washington. Very close to Jay L v.stons. Mr.
Goldberg is considered by most observers to be Mr. Lovestone's
unofficial representative in the AFL-CIO International Affairs Depart-
ment. He is probably the most knowledgeable official in that department
- lished, in this instance.
