Mr. Goldberg is presently with the American delegation in Paris attending the UNESCO Conference. He has addressed a note to the DCI requesting an appointment upon his return to discuss the Indonesian. situation. Mr. Goldberg is a member of the staff of the international Affairs Department of the AFL-CIO and makes his head- quarters here in Washington. Very close to Jay L v.stons. Mr. Goldberg is considered by most observers to be Mr. Lovestone's unofficial representative in the AFL-CIO International Affairs Depart- ment. He is probably the most knowledgeable official in that department - lished, in this instance.
